Bert Monterona

Bert is an artist, educator and cultural worker doing designing, illustrations, painting, murals, sculpture and installations. He is a recipient of the Western Australia Department of the Arts and Australia Council for the Arts Grants and Asian Artists Awards of Vermont Studio Centre and Freeman Foundation, U.S.A., He is one of the five Winners of the International Mural Festival and Competition in Manitoba, Canada in 2007. Bert has exhibited his mural size tapestry paintings in the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, France, USA and Canada.

The diversity in family life in contemporary society has a broad range of dimensions, and family life is dependent on the culture of the societies of which the family is a part. Families have changed dramatically over time due to migration, economic, demographic, cultural and political factors. 

Loving and practicing your own culture is one way of embracing cultural diversities and makes the family more united and open minded to adopt new life, new community and new home. The family life, values and culture responding to challenges to grasp the reciprocal interconnection between different cultures to fit into the bigger pattern of cultural change.

It is just like the painting showing different directions of water current but the fish and the bird still keep on swimming forward.
